Why choose this beach
Burriana is the easiest Nerja beach for a complete day by the water. It combines a proper promenade, restaurants, equipment hire and watersports with the cliff-backed character of the eastern Costa del Sol. Smaller Nerja coves are more intimate, but Burriana is much easier when facilities and a long stay matter.
Best time to visit
Late May, June or September; early morning in July and August.
Morning
Calmer water and easier access make this the best swimming window.
Midday
Restaurants and watersports are active, with the highest pressure on parking and beach space.
Evening
A relaxed promenade atmosphere, though some beach services wind down.
Access
The beach sits below the town. Road access and parking become difficult in summer, and the return walk to higher accommodation can be steep.
Local tip
Arrive for a calm morning swim, reserve lunch near the promenade and avoid searching for parking around midday.
Before you go
Steep approaches from parts of Nerja, difficult peak-season parking and high summer occupancy.
